Samsung is directing customers toward VXT, its cloud-based digital-signage platform, and provides migration guidance through the VXT CMS Transformer. A successful transition begins with evidence: the installed server version, device models, player compatibility, content, schedules, integrations, network policy and support entitlement.
Why organisations should plan now
Samsung states that software maintenance for MagicINFO 8 has been discontinued and that its final security patch was delivered in October 2023. Samsung also promotes VXT as the current cloud-based path and describes a migration tool for supported MagicINFO environments.

Use lifecycle dates as planning gates
The working roadmap supplied to PNSS identifies 31 December 2026 for MagicINFO on-premise end of sale, 28 February 2027 for MagicINFO Cloud end of service, sales standardisation on VXT from 2027 and 31 December 2029 as a broader MagicINFO end-of-support milestone. These dates may vary by version, region, contract or entitlement, so PNSS will reconfirm the applicable Samsung notice before a customer acts.
Build a complete signage inventory
- MagicINFO server, version, hosting and maintenance status
- Display models, player types, firmware and network location
- Content files, fonts, templates, playlists and schedules
- Data feeds, APIs, authentication and approval workflow
- Business-critical screens and acceptable downtime
Pilot before the full cutover
Select a representative but non-critical group of displays. Test content conversion, scheduling, device control, user permissions, network access, alerting and the support process. Document every exception before expanding the migration.
Move with a rollback and support plan
Confirm owners, a maintenance window, backups, user training, acceptance tests and rollback criteria. Keep the existing service available until the pilot output and operating workflow have been approved.
